Are the pins sold individually?
Rarely. Most references are sets of five to eight pieces, which is cheaper per unit and allows for a coherent series on a single bag.
How are they attached?
By a pin on the back, held by a metal butterfly clutch. They move from one backing to another without leaving a visible trace on thick fabrics.
How does this differ from a patch?
