Discover this Shinobu Demon Slayer Hoodie - Insect Hashira, designed for mid-season wear. This hoodie features a drawstring hood, a kangaroo pocket, Shinobu printed on the chest, a close-up of her eyes on the back, her name along both sleeves, and six sizes from S to XXXL.

The front shows her waist-up, in a light coat fading from white to purple, with a butterfly resting in her hair. To her right, a small red label bears two characters. The second means hashira. The first does not mean butterfly.

Her title says insect, not butterfly

Everything about her points to the butterfly: the ornament in her hair, the gradient of her coat, her house emblems, even the nickname readers give her. Yet the small label printed beside her says something else. Its first character is the one for insect, in a broad and not very flattering sense, the same one used for vermin.

Each hashira carries the name of their fighting style in their title, and hers is inspired by creatures that sting and poison, not those that land on flowers. The difference is no mere translation detail. Shinobu is the only one in the group who cannot behead a demon, being too small and too light for that, and thus learned to kill them differently. The butterfly is what she shows; the insect is what she does. Both are printed side by side, three centimeters apart.

A black background, six sizes

The black background serves the purple: the coat's gradient and the eye on the back both stand out, where a light background would have required an outline to hold its own. The back shows a close-up of her eyes, with text in English printed below. The pocket passes under the design without cutting it.

The six sizes range from S to XXXL. The size chart only gives one measurement, starting at 102 cm for S and rising to 122 cm for XXXL: 106 for M, 110 for L, 114 for XL, 118 for XXL. There is therefore a four-centimeter gap between each size, from beginning to end, without exception. Choosing is simpler than it seems: if one size fits you, the next one up will provide exactly four centimeters more. The hoodie falls loosely on the shoulders, and if you prefer a slim fit, take one size down. Two signs next to the portrait, and they do not say the same thing.
