The print features full manga panels, including frames, screen tones, and checkered patterns, but in a shade barely darker than the background. From a distance, the garment appears solid-colored; up close, you can distinguish the panels, speech bubbles, and Tanjiro's checkered pattern.

The original black and white

Choosing the panel rather than the color illustration is not a neutral decision. Demon Slayer is a manga before it is an anime, and its author, Koyoharu Gotouge, built their characters to be recognizable in black and white, within a panel, without color to help: a checkered pattern, triangles, a bamboo mouthpiece, six eyes.
