The face fills the frame, from the front, with a wide, uncovered smile and wide-open yellow eyes. The pink hair spreads out in strands in all directions and mingles with blue swirls that cover the rest of the fabric up to the seams. Hakuji stole to treat his father

Before becoming Akaza, Hakuji was a young man willing to do anything to treat his sick father. In Demon Slayer, he steals money to pay for treatments, gets punished repeatedly, and continues despite the consequences. His father eventually commits suicide so that his son will stop committing crimes in his name. This loss marks the beginning of a human past far more tragic than the demon's smile suggests.

The contrast with this expression is intentional: behind the Upper Moon Three is Hakuji, a son who started by stealing to save his father.
