Demon Slayer slippers: which ones to choose?

In short

The section has twenty pairs of Demon Slayer slippers. Seventeen indoor mule slippers at €27.90, with an open heel and a foam sole, printed over the whole upper, in ten EU sizes from 36-37 to 54-55: fifteen characters, a collage of eleven heroes and four portraits on a cream sole. And three plush slippers at €69.90, with the head of Tanjiro, Nezuko or Rengoku sewn on top, in one size from 35 to 40. The choice is made on the character, then on the size.

Tanjiro Kamado, calm, in convalescent clothes at the Butterfly Mansion, Demon Slayer

Between two missions, the demon slayers of Demon Slayer spend weeks at the Butterfly Mansion, in convalescent clothes, resting and learning to walk again. At home, slippers go with the same moments: the end of the day, the weekend without going out, the evening in front of an episode. They are also the simplest gift to give a fan, inexpensive and useful every day.

This guide helps you choose among the twenty pairs in the section: printed mules, plush slippers, sizes, the character, care and budget. To complete the loungewear outfit, our guide to Demon Slayer pyjamas for adults and children presents the matching sets, and all our buying advice is on the shop’s guides and advice page.

Which Demon Slayer slippers to choose?

The section splits into two families. The printed mules are indoor slippers with a closed front and an open heel, which you slip on without using your hands. Their polyester upper is printed with a character from the toe to the opening, and each slipper often shows a different pose. The plush slippers are closed at the front and open at the back too, but entirely in short plush, with a character’s head sewn in 3D on top.

The two families are not quite aimed at the same people. The mules cover a very wide range of sizes, up to 54-55, which makes them a rarity for big feet. The plush slippers, in one size from 35 to 40, rather suit teenagers and adults with small feet. The table sums up the offer.

Family Models Sizes Price
Printed mules 17 ten sizes, from 36-37 to 54-55 27,90 €
Plush slippers 3 one size, from 35 to 40 69,90 €

All the models are gathered in the Demon Slayer slipper collection, which is part of the Demon Slayer clothing collection.

Character, then size

Seventeen mules at €27.90 and three plush pairs at €69.90: the character decides, the size comes next.

The printed mules, ten sizes

The seventeen mules share the same construction. The polyester upper is printed in colour over its whole surface, attached by a continuous seam to a moulded foam sole made in one piece. The sole is about two centimetres thick at the heel and thins towards the front, with a dark band on the edge, which protects the side where a slipper wears first against furniture legs, and a ridged underside.

Inside, the lining goes down under the sole of the foot and covers the assembly seam: nothing rubs, even barefoot. The opening is wide, with no elastic or cord, which lets you wear them with a thick sock without changing size. The open heel lets you slip them on standing up, without bending down.

Sizes are grouped two by two: 36-37, 38-39, 40-41, and so on up to 54-55. Ten sizes in all, which also covers the big feet that most patterned slippers abandon at 46. The fit is consistent from one size to the next. If you are between two, take the pair above: a slightly large mule is more comfortable than one that pinches.

These mules remain indoor slippers. They suit parquet as well as tiles, but foam is not an outdoor sole: it would wear quickly on gravel or a pavement. To go out, our guide to Demon Slayer shoes, Crocs and trainers presents the models made for the street.

The heroes and the Hashira

The mules cover almost the whole series. The trio and Nezuko: Tanjiro with a water dragon that comes down to the sole, Nezuko in her pink kimono, Zenitsu and his triangle haori, Inosuke and his boar mask. Kanao also has her pair, with her pink blade. Each slipper shows a different pose, so that the pair tells a little scene when you look at it closely.

Tanjiro’s mules are among the most spectacular: the water dragon of Water Breathing coils around the foot and comes down to the sole. Kanao’s take up her pink blade, Nezuko’s the starry pink of her kimono, a motif that remains her sign even when she changes size in the series.

Gyomei Himejima, the Stone Hashira, his face bathed in tears, prayer beads in hand, Demon Slayer

The Hashira are numerous: Giyu Tomioka in a blue wave, Rengoku in his orange flames, Muichiro in his turquoise mist, his blade raised on one slipper and held horizontally on the other, Sanemi in his white haori, Tengen and his jewelled headband, Obanai and his white snake, Gyomei and his string of prayer beads. Only Mitsuri and Shinobu are missing, and they can be found on the four-portrait pair.

Tomioka’s slippers are among the most successful: on the left one, he stands in a blue wave that rises above the foot, on the right one, he leans forward, blade drawn, above white foam drawn as on a woodblock print. Our article on Giyu Tomioka, the Water Hashira tells his story, and our page on the Demon Slayer Hashira presents the nine.

Demons at your feet

Demon fans are not forgotten. Three pairs are devoted to them. Akaza and his blue markings, bare-chested, on guard. Muzan and his white hat, the elegant man of the Taisho era. Kokushibo in his purple kimono, his face crossed by six eyes, a blade held horizontally. These are the darkest pairs in the section, and often the favourites of teenagers.

Each one takes up the look of its demon. Muzan appears as an elegant man under his white hat, as Tanjiro crosses paths with him in the streets of Asakusa, with a borrowed family on his arm. Kokushibo keeps the samurai outfit he has worn for four centuries, purple kimono and black hakama. Akaza, barefoot and bare-chested, stays faithful to the bare-handed fighter he was when he was alive.

Akaza, Upper Moon Three, on guard, his hand outstretched, his body covered with blue lines, Demon Slayer

Akaza’s slippers have a detail for connoisseurs: his blue markings refer to his human past, when he was called Hakuji and was to marry Koyuki. Our article on Akaza’s story, when he was called Hakuji tells of this life, and our page on the Demon Slayer demons presents Muzan and his Moons.

A pair of demons also makes a funny nod in a family of fans: one wears Tanjiro, the other Muzan, and the living room becomes a miniature battlefield. Our Akaza Demon Slayer collection gathers the other items of the demon who fights with his bare hands.

The group pairs

Two pairs bring together several characters, for those who do not want to choose. The collage of eleven characters brings together the trio, Nezuko and other figures from the series: on the right slipper, Tanjiro stands sword in hand in front of Nezuko, with Zenitsu and Inosuke. Its assembly seam is on the outside, which gives it a slightly different look from the other mules.

The four-portrait pair is the only one with a cream insole instead of the usual grey. The left slipper shows Tanjiro and Nezuko huddled together in front of a blue wave, the right one Giyu Tomioka and Shinobu side by side, two-tone haori and butterfly wings, on a light wood panel ringed with two red discs. It is the ideal pair for a Shinobu fan, who has no mule of her own.

These group pairs make good gifts when you do not know the person’s favourite character. Our page on all the Demon Slayer characters helps you guess which one they prefer, and our Tanjiro Kamado Demon Slayer collection gathers the hero’s items.

The plush slippers

The three plush slippers cost €69.90 and stand out for the head sewn in 3D on top. Tanjiro’s, in brown plush, has his short hair and the red mark on his forehead, cut from fabric and laid flat. Rengoku’s raises his yellow hair streaked with red tips above a plain yellow slipper. Nezuko’s, on a black slipper, has two cat ears pink on the inside, her almond-shaped pink eyes and her green and beige bamboo muzzle.

Kyojuro Rengoku, the Flame Hashira, a confident smile on his lips, Demon Slayer

The construction comes down to three pieces: a short plush upper, which does not felt after a few weeks, a flexible one-piece sole, with no added rubber or studs, and the head, sewn rather than glued. The inner lining is the same plush as the upper. These are indoor slippers and nothing else, to keep for the house.

The one size covers 35 to 40, with a wide fit: the width adjusts itself through the softness of the material. The head sticks up about ten centimetres above the instep. It makes the pair recognisable from the other side of the room, but stops you from slipping your foot under low furniture. For a foot above 40, choose a printed mule.

Nezuko Kamado, her pink eyes wide open, against a wooden wall, Demon Slayer

Nezuko’s slippers play on a fan idea: adding cat ears to her. The face stays faithful to the character, with her pink eyes and her bamboo muzzle, but the black head topped with ears makes it an item halfway between the series and a plush toy. Tanjiro’s and Rengoku’s stay closer to their appearance, with no additions. For a fan who likes the cute side, Nezuko’s are often unanimously loved.

Giving according to the person

For a child discovering the series, start from the character they mention most often: Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu or Inosuke. Zenitsu’s yellow and orange mules and Inosuke’s, with his boar’s head, make them laugh, Nezuko’s are loved for their pink. For a teenager, the Hashira and the demons have more effect: Tomioka, Rengoku, Muichiro, or Akaza, Muzan and Kokushibo for those who prefer the opposing side.

For an adult, the plush slippers have a quirky side that raises a smile, and the mules in sober colours, Kokushibo in purple or Gyomei in green, go unnoticed in an adult home. For a couple of fans, two linked characters make a nice nod: Tanjiro and Nezuko, or the two Hashira of the four-portrait pair.

If you know nothing about the person’s tastes, choose the four-portrait pair or the collage of eleven characters: they show the whole gang, and no one will be disappointed. Our Giyu Tomioka Demon Slayer, Kyojuro Rengoku Demon Slayer and Inosuke Hashibira Demon Slayer collections gather the items matching each of these characters.

Choosing the size

For the mules, start from your usual size and choose the pair that contains it: a 38 takes the 38-39, a 43 the 42-43. If you wear an odd size at the top of a range, a 41 for example, the 40-41 is enough for a slim foot, the 42-43 if you often wear thick socks. Measure and rely on the sizes on the product page if in doubt.

For a child, be careful: the mules start at 36-37 and the plush slippers at 35. They are therefore suitable from the age when the child wears a 35 or 36, often around ten or eleven. For a younger child, our guide to Demon Slayer gifts for children by age offers other suitable ideas.

For a family, the range of sizes is a real asset: the whole household can wear the same character, from the teenage daughter’s 36 to the father’s 46, each in their size. Or everyone takes their own, and the hallway turns into a Hashira meeting.

Caring for your slippers

The mules are first cleaned with a damp cloth for the upper, with a soft brush for the ridges of the sole. For a full wash, wash them by hand in lukewarm soapy water, without soaking or twisting them, then let them dry in the open air and flat. Allow two days for complete drying before wearing them again: the lining holds moisture longer than the fabric.

A pair washed too often loses its foam faster than a pair that is simply aired and brushed. Air it overnight between two days of wear, which is enough to avoid the smell that any closed lining takes on. The printed upper is dabbed with mild soap in case of a stain, without rubbing.

With daily use, a pair of mules wears first at the sole, at the heel and on the sides. When the foam flattens to the point of no longer cushioning your step, it is time to change pairs. Alternating two pairs, one for the week and one for the weekend, doubles their lifespan and gives each one time to dry between wears.

The plush slippers are washed by hand, in lukewarm water, without leaving them to soak, then dry flat for a whole day, on their side. Once dry, brush the plush in the direction of the pile to restore its volume. Between seasons, store them in a fabric bag rather than a plastic one: plush needs to breathe.

The complete loungewear outfit

Slippers are often the last piece of a loungewear outfit in the series’ colours. Pyjamas, a throw or a wearable blanket, a pair of slippers: three items are enough for an evening in front of an episode. For a coherent set, choose the same character throughout, or at least the same dominant colour.

Tanjiro’s green checkerboard can be found on a wearable blanket, a microfibre throw and mules, Nezuko’s pink on a wearable blanket, a throw and two pairs of slippers. Rengoku’s flames run across a wearable blanket, mules and his plush slippers. Our guide to Demon Slayer throws presents each character’s wearable blankets and throws.

For winter nights, also think of sweatshirts and fleece pyjamas. Our guide to Demon Slayer sweatshirts compares the models, and our guide to Demon Slayer pyjamas presents the sets for the whole family, from the youngest to adults.

Budget and delivery

The seventeen mules all cost €27.90, whatever the size, and the three plush slippers €69.90. The price does not change with the size: a pair in 54-55 costs the same as a pair in 36-37, which is not always the case for large sizes. For a whole family, four pairs of mules cost €111.60. It is one of the most affordable sections of the shop, and one of the safest gifts: a pair of slippers is used every day, and the favourite character does the rest.

For a complete gift, pair the slippers with a throw or pyjamas of the same character. Our guide to Demon Slayer throws presents the wearable blankets from €39.90, and a wearable blanket with a pair of mules of the same character makes a matching gift. Our Demon Slayer pyjama section completes the outfit, and our Nezuko Kamado Demon Slayer collection gathers the items of Tanjiro’s sister. The slippers are delivered in 5 to 12 days depending on where you live.
