Three signs and nothing more
On a cap panel, space is measured in centimeters, and Nezuko is among the rare characters that survive this reduction. Just three signs are enough to recognize her: the bamboo gag, the hair gradient, and the pink of the kimono. No detailed face is necessary. The chibi format further accentuates this economy: two heads tall, simple features, no shading: exactly what an embroidery of a few centimeters can render without blurring.
The gag is the most important of the three. She wears it to avoid biting, and she keeps it long after the danger has passed, when no one forces her to wear it anymore. She is the only demon in the series to be wary of herself, and this object tells the whole character in a single drawing stroke. She even shrinks down to the size of a six-year-old child, which makes her naturally drawable in chibi style without the format betraying the character.
