Discover this Inosuke Demon Slayer Cosplay - Pants and full mask, featuring baggy pants and a faux fur skirt, available with or without the boar mask.

The midnight blue pants are very loose at the thigh and tighten below the knee, where a strip of black fur extends the leg down to the foot in jagged points. The brown faux fur skirt ties at the hips and falls straight. The mask covers the entire head: spiky gray fur, an open pink snout, two white tusks, and blue eyes rimmed with black.

The straw demons knocking at the door

On New Year's Eve, on the Oga Peninsula in northern Honshu, men put on rice straw cosplay and a demon mask, then go knocking on people's doors.

They are called namahage and are considered the embodiment of local deities. They enter, search for disobedient children and lazy parents, scold them loudly, then receive food and drink before leaving. The visit is expected, prepared, and perfectly codified: it is not a prank, it is a ritual. It has been inscribed in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list since 2018. A cosplay that is scary on purpose, once a year, with the consent of the entire village.

Three combinations, mask or clothing

Three options are offered: the mask alone, the pants with their fur skirt, or both together. Sizes range from S to L. The mask is a heavy piece that covers the entire head and rests on the shoulders: it is worn for photos rather than all day, and is pushed back onto the skull the rest of the time, just as the Demon Slayer character himself does. The pants are worn shirtless or over a light top depending on the season.

The mask's faux fur can be styled by hand in the direction of the grain, and will regain its shape after a night resting on a box rather than on its side. The pants should be washed cold and dried flat. The fur points at the bottom of the leg get dirty first: a light brushing is enough after each outing. The mask should be transported stuffed with crumpled paper rather than empty: this keeps the volume of the snout and ears, which would otherwise get crushed at the bottom of a bag.
