Discover this Demon Slayer Laundry Basket - Manga Grid Panels, a foldable storage basket available in two sizes: S (34 cm in diameter by 42 cm high) and M (40 by 50 cm). The canvas is printed around the entire circumference, lined with polyethylene, mounted on a reinforced base, and held by two flat handles sewn face-to-face. When empty, it folds flat onto its base.

Colorized manga panels, arranged in a grid across two rows that wrap around the object. Giyu Tomioka, Tanjiro, and Shinobu Kocho appear several times, surrounded by opponents. Each panel retains its white border, as if on a printed manga page.

The original format, and how it changes things

Kimetsu no Yaiba first existed in black and white, published chapter by chapter in a weekly magazine between 2016 and 2020, across twenty-three volumes. Color only came with the animated adaptation several years later. A grid like this therefore colorizes panels that were never colored at the time of publication, which explains the slightly bold, flat colors on the clothing and the screened backgrounds left in white.

The layout of the panels lends itself well to a cylindrical object. Where a single illustration becomes distorted when wrapped around a basket and loses its framing, a grid remains readable because each panel is self-contained. You see one whole panel at a time, and the rest awaits as you turn the object, which is exactly how a comic page is read on paper: one panel after the other, without ever seeing the whole page at a single glance. The cylinder imposes the same rhythm.

Place, fill, carry

The base measures 34 cm in size S, which gives the basket a wider-than-tall footprint when filled. It does not tip over when pulled with one hand.

The handles are sewn at mid-height, flat against the canvas. They can be held with one hand for a lightly loaded basket, or two hands when it is full, and they do not dig into your fingers because the strap is wide. The polyethylene lining protects the print from damp laundry straight out of the shower. Once emptied, the basket folds down onto its base and can be stored upright between a piece of furniture and a wall, in a space of a few centimeters, or laid flat on a high shelf until the next wash. One panel at a time, just like on a page.
