Discover this Tanjiro Demon Slayer Pencil Case - Chibi on green patchwork, a box-shaped pencil case printed with a chibi Tanjiro and his name in Japanese characters, set against a green patchwork background.
The chibi is standing at a three-quarter angle, wearing his green and black checkered haori, his scar clearly visible on his forehead, looking determined. His name appears vertically in red behind him. The background is an assembly of pine green, aqua green, and cream rectangles sown with white flowers and grid patterns.
The demon who was a man
The tale of the boy born from a peach, who set off to fight demons with three companions, has local roots: a legend from the Okayama region where an imperial prince confronts a leader named Ura, reputed to be a red-haired giant entrenched in a mountain fortress.
In this version, the prince has no dog, monkey, or pheasant, but three vassals whose names can still be read in local shrines. As for the peach, it was not decorative: it was believed to have the power to ward off evil, and the region was already cultivating them. Even the millet cake distributed to the companions owes its name to that of the province. The childhood story covers up a matter of conquest; the region embraces this and had it inscribed as national heritage in 2018.
A rectangular box and its chain
The pencil case is shaped like a small rectangular box, closed by a zipper on top and sitting flat on the table. The two large sides are printed, each with its own design: the Demon Slayer logo on one, the character illustration on the other, so that the case changes appearance depending on which side is shown. A metal chain and ring hang from one end, allowing it to be attached to a bag handle or to clip on a charm. It has a smooth, flexible texture. You are not restricted to just pens: the same box can be used to store earbuds, as a card pouch, or as an emergency kit in a gym bag, and its flat bottom keeps it stable on an inclined table.
A wipe with a damp cloth is enough, no products or brushes needed, and the case should be air-dried while open. Avoid overstuffing it beyond its height: this puts more strain on a zipper than daily use ever will. The chain can be detached by opening the ring if it gets in the way. A dry microfiber cloth is sufficient for dust between more thorough cleanings. A name in red on a patchwork of greens.
